The CAPLA West building was constructed in 1965, expanded in 1970 and expanded again in 1979. This three-story structure once had an open atrium that is now an enclosed centrum called the T.M. Sundt Design Gallery that provides 2,800 square feet of multifunctional space that is used for conferences, exhibitions, events and studio critiques. Other facilities housed in the CAPLA West building include the Dean’s Administration Suite, Dinsmore Conference Room, Student and Alumni Center (SAAC), computer laboratories, several classrooms, faculty and staff offices and student architectural studios.
