Real Estate Month: Real Estate Month consists of several thought-provoking panels, educational workshops, keynote presentations and more that will offer students an opportunity to enhance their knowledge and grow their passion for the real estate industry.
Developers Showcase: The Developers Showcase welcomes leading commercial real estate companies to present their recent or upcoming development projects to eager students. This provides companies with a great opportunity to share exclusive insight into their thought process behind the building design, fundamental market drivers for their projects, challenges they’ve faced turning their vision into reality and more.
Diversity In Real Estate: Diversity in real estate will feature unique stories of our industry’s diverse leaders and showcase their successes and challenges in overcoming barriers in their careers and our industry. The event will consist of a collaborative panel discussion on relevant topics, followed by a networking session.
Customizable Events: This is an opportunity for a company to run an initiative exclusively tailored to the needs of their organization as well as enhance their engagement with the future leaders of the real estate industry. Some creative event ideas could be an office tour with recruitment at your company offices, exclusive real asset tours to educate students about the process behind turning a vision into reality, and a thought-provoking workshop showcasing how property technology has benefited your portfolio.
Ted Rogers Real Estate Association: The Toronto Real Estate TRREATed Rogers Real Estate Association (TRREA), formerly known as Real Estate Ryerson, was established in 2007 and later became the official course union for the Real Estate Management program at Ted Rogers School of Management in 2013. The organization serves as the exclusive real estate club for undergraduate students at Toronto Metropolitan University, boasting a membership of over 30 students from different academic backgrounds, years, and disciplines. Their mission is to foster interest in the real estate industry within the student community and to act as a bridge, connecting industry organizations with the diverse talent pool at Toronto Metropolitan University. The association achieves this objective by implementing various initiatives and programming throughout the academic year, adapting and evolving since its founding.
Expand Your Empire Conference: The two-day event brings together students from across the globe for a weekend packed with a development case competition, informative panels, workshops, networking events, and evening socials. Students compete for our grand prizes, which include $10,000 for first place, $7,500 for second place, $5,000 for third place and $1,500 for the most sustainable and financially feasible proposal, respectively.
Career Night: Career Night allows students to learn more about the different pathways in commercial real estate from industry professionals. Panelists discuss their experiences in various areas of the industry such as brokerage, leasing, property management and development etc. as well as their observations of key trends in the industry.
Fall And Winter Networking Nights: Networking Nights brings professionals from all corners of the real estate industry and connects them with enthusiastic students. The event includes a keynote address by a distinguished member of the real estate community and a formal affair in an exclusive venue, as well as refreshments for all attendees. Previous years saw roughly 200 attendees, with a 1:1 student-to-industry ratio.
Brokerage Night: Brokerage Night is a new initiative, highlighting the sell side of commercial real estate. This insightful panel will feature a diverse range of industry professionals discussing their career paths within real estate brokerage as well as various topics and themes within the brokerage landscape. The event will close off with a networking session with the panellists.
Private Equity Night: This new initiative features industry professionals who currently lead high-profile real estate private equity firms. This panel is aimed at showcasing unique career paths, and roles such as Investments, Development, and Asset Management, as well as sharing insights into key themes that exist within the real estate private equity landscape. The event will consist of a collaborative panel discussion on relevant topics followed by a networking session.
