ULI Chicago | YL Small Group Discussion Series #1: The State of the US Mall

The ULI Chicago Young Leaders are hosting their annual Small Group Discussion Series highlighting some of Chicago’s top real estate companies. These small group discussions will allow young professionals access and intimate conversations with some of Chicago’s top executives.

Retail assets continue to pose a complex challenge for many owners and investors in today’s market. Ben Freeman from Brookfield Properties will speak to Brookfield’s strategy for shopping malls and provide insight into how to retail assets can find success in an evolving industry. Specific examples will be provided of how these assets have transitioned from “destination shopping centers” and have been transformed into “hubs of daily life” to meet the changing lifestyle and shopping habits of consumers.
