Tampa International Airport is going green! This walking tour features the LEED Platinum SkyCenter One office with the airport’s new Sustainability and Resilience Director, Eric Caplan. Built with 100% low-emitting materials, SkyCenter One generates 34% less energy than the industry baseline and saves an estimated 1.1 million gallons of water annually. But the airport’s efforts expand beyond the walls of SkyCenter One. Attendees will get a peek behind the scenes to see the Airport’s central utility plant, a solar array on top of their parking garage, and an electric tram system.
The event starts with a panel review of the project’s goals, strategies, outcomes, and lessons learned through the development process. Participants will then tour the space and see first-hand how green building strategies were applied.
