COVID-19 has brought the importance of cultural experiences into sharp focus for many people. Moving away from the city often results in diminishing our access to culture.

Those involved in building new places are increasingly asking how they can deliver culture in new communities, both at small and large scale.

Many are mindful of the requirement to protect and harness the existing culture in places where it is already strongly established; others are keen to ensure that culture is promoted in places which are less well-provisioned.

The question that developers and investors could be asking themselves is “how can we make this a neighbourhood rather an ‘estate’ or a ‘development’.”
