ULI France: Round table on the Intensity of the City with Jean-Paul Viguier, Laurent Girometti and Luc Gwiazdzinski
We are pleased to invite you to the first ULI France event of the 2020 season for an evening at the agency Architecture Urbanisme et Paysage VIGUIER on 16 January from 6pm for a discussion on the theme of the Intensity of the City and the Convertible City.
This discussion will be structured around a privileged moment of exchange with Jean-Paul Viguier, Laurent Girometti, Managing Director of the Etablissements publics d’aménagement de Marne-la-Vallée EPAMARNE-EPAFRANCE, and Luc Gwiazdzinski, and around an exhibition dedicated to the theme addressed, through a selection of projects.
Luc Gwiazdzinski is a geographer and Lecturer-researcher in urban planning and development at the University of Grenoble-Alpes, where he directs the “Master in Innovation and Territory, Creativity and Design of Public Policies”. He is also associate professor at Shanghai University (Smart City Institute) and invited to various universities around the world.
Etymologically, “intensity” refers to the terms and quantities of measurement as well as force and power, depending on the context in which it is used. These exchanges will highlight how the concept of intensity is becoming a scale applied to architecture, and the need for today’s and tomorrow’s cities to design more liveable metropolitan areas.
