Join us for our September Member Lunch featuring speaker Russ DeMartino who will present about Longwood Place.
Longwood Place is a transformational redevelopment in the heart of the Longwood Medical and Academic Area (LMA). The LMA is a 213-acre hub of innovation anchored by higher education, healthcare, and life science institutions. Longwood Place will deliver approximately 1.65 million square feet of residential, laboratory/office, medical/clinic, retail, community space, and parking across three commercial buildings and two residential buildings. The project will also revitalize a gated-off stretch of Brookline Avenue with a vibrant, welcoming public realm that will serve as the beating heart of the LMA and the surrounding community.
Longwood Place will be built on the site of the Simmons University Residence Campus, which is being relocated to a Living and Learning Center that is currently under construction. The Living and Learning Center is the centerpiece of the OneSimmons strategic plan to shape the future of Simmons by unifying and modernizing its campus. Simmons plays a unique role as the only women-centered undergraduate institution in the City of Boston with a deep commitment to advancing gender equity. This transformative project will allow the entire Simmons community to learn, grow, and collaborate in ways not previously possible.
