For the first time in more than 40 years, there is going to be air rights development above the Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90).
Developed by Samuels & Associates, Parcel 12 (soon to be known as 1001 Boylston Street) offers an important opportunity to repair a barren section of Boylston Street and Massachusetts Avenue disrupted by the Turnpike. Additionally, this project aims to knit together distinct Boston neighborhoods: the Back Bay and the Fenway, and the South End and the City of Cambridge by creating a dynamic mixed use development with ground-floor. Developed by Meredith Management and IQHQ, Parcel 7 will be a mix of office/R&D/lab and life sciences uses in order to address current investor and market demand for such uses in proximity to the Longwood Medical Area (LMA), robust public transit and Boston University.
Join us on September 23rd to hear from those who are breaking new ground – both literally and figuratively. On the wide-ranging agenda, we will discuss the nuances and complexities of creating places out of thin air and what the path forward might look like for others.
