What does it take to manage the urban edge to prevent sprawl and protect agriculture, open space and habitat? Greenbelt Alliance has partnered with SPUR, as part of our Regional Strategy initiative, to produce the briefing paper Managing the Urban Edge. Presenting a range of tools that have proven successful in limiting encroachment across the Bay Area, the report introduces additional strategies linking conservation to climate adaptation while considering the factors driving sprawl today, especially in the Central Valley.
