The ramifications of COVID-19 have been devastating for many, but the tens of thousands experiencing homelessness during the pandemic are paying an especially high price. With limited access to private space, sanitation and healthcare prior to the pandemic, the Bay Area’s unhoused population is unable to take many of the physical distancing measures necessary to prevent the spread of the virus.
