Restoring Life in Downtown San Francisco by Improving the Public Realm [In-Person Program]
In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the importance of public spaces has become even more evident. San Franciscans voted to keep John F. Kennedy Drive in Golden Gate Park closed to cars and open to people. In other parts of the city, community benefit districts are looking to improve the public realm with public spaces. Downtown SF Partnership developed the Public Realm Action Plan (PRAP) with a vision to transform downtown San Francisco into a social destination by making streets and shared public spaces safer, cleaner, and more active through physical and programmatic improvements. During this in-person panel discussion, the PRAP project team will share the plan’s insights, goals, and next steps.
