USGBC Wisconsin’s keystone program and annual fundraising event, Transformation, is moving to an all-virtual format this year. Transformation will unfold over several weeks, with four virtual panel discussions preceding the virtual capstone event taking place on October 14. The Road to Transformation panel discussions will take place between August and October, with each program focused on a key USGBC pillars: Sustainability, Equity, Health, Resilience.

Road to Transformation: Equity

During May’s inaugural USGBC Equity Summit, participants challenged USGBC to be steadfast and committed to work that would inspire change at all levels. As a state recently identified as the second worst in the country with regards to racial inequities, Wisconsinites need to start taking serious action and get comfortable with uncomfortable conversations.

When defining the foundational values that our business, brands and company culture are built upon, equity has been a longstanding addition to the lineup. The social justice activism that has encompassed the beginning of 2020 had proven to test businesses, organizations and communities on the authenticity of that statement. Equity has taken on a new meaning. Join us as we learn from Wisconsin business owners, NGO’s and other organizations all working to cultivate an authentic foundation based on equity as a core value; Even if it means starting all over again.
