ULI is partnering with the China Real Estate Chamber of Commerce Hong Kong and International Chapter (CRECCHKI) to host a two-webinar series on developing modern communities and the changing face of UK towns and cities. ULI members and guests are invited to hear views that are changing the face of how people interact and communities thrive.
The first in the series is centred around communities, housing and infrastructure with Sir Stuart Lipton presenting leading examples from around the world. The second webinar will focus on the UK, looking at social changes, retail and town centres.
It is globally appreciated that social changes in the UK are quite advanced. The UK has one of the highest global rates of online shopping, three times higher than parts of Europe for example. That, and many other factors, are causing a permanent change to our towns and cities and over the last 2 months, this change has materially accelerated / increased for obvious reasons. The key question is what is the impact on the workplace, logistics, infrastructure, the high street, the home, traditional leisure?
