YLG in Conversation with Dr. Cheong Koon Hean
As CEO of both the Urban Redevelopment Authority (2004–2010) and the Housing and Development Board (2010–2020), Dr Cheong Koon Hean oversaw the planning and development of Singapore across two of its most transformative decades. She was the key driver behind Marina Bay, which has since become Singapore’s signature image on the world stage, and introduced a new generation of well designed, sustainable and smart public housing towns. Today she is Practice Professor and Chair of the Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities (SUTD), advises the Centre for Liveable Cities under MND, and serves as Singapore’s Non-Resident Ambassador to Finland. She continues to participate actively in local and international advisory panels and sits on the boards of CapitaLand Group and Surbana Jurong Group.
