This year’s event will also help benefit Make-A-Wish Greater Bay Area and will help us adopt Colin’s wish.
ABOUT WISH KID COLIN: Nine-year-old Colin is a natural athlete who loves to compete. He played hockey and baseball with his older brother, Evan. Unfortunately, after having a “headache that just wouldn’t go away,” Colin was diagnosed with a brain tumor and had to undergo several surgeries. During his rehab, he had to relearn how to do everything, including walking, talking, and even chewing and swallowing.
Even though his recovery is going well, Colin can’t play contact sports anymore. During hockey season, he thought about how he played arcade games during his brother’s matches. “I wanted to get something cool for the house that I could just play with,” Colin says about his wish to have a hockey-themed pinball machine. Now he and his brother can play and be competitive from the comfort of their living room.
“Colin has to stand up and use both hands to play pinball,” says his mom, Theresa. “It’s a really good physical and occupational therapy tool and it’s a good use of his time. All our other memories from this experience are painful, but getting this wish is a good one. Thank you!”
