
The “metaverse” has exploded in popularity over the last couple of years. Just like in the real world, a key component of these digital realms is real estate. As interest in the metaverse increases, so do real estate values: in November 2021 a plot of digital land sold for a record $4.3 million. Over the past few months, virtual land prices have soared by 400 – 500%, and a recent report by crypto asset manager Grayscale estimates the digital world may grow into a $1 trillion business in the near future.
